What Is Drain Relining?

Drain relining — also called CIPP (cured-in-place pipe) lining — is a trenchless repair technique that restores a damaged drain pipe from the inside without any excavation. A flexible liner saturated with structural resin is fed into the pipe, inflated against the pipe walls, and then cured using either UV light or steam. The result is a smooth, seamless new pipe inside the original host pipe.

The Drain Relining Process

Our engineers carry out every stage of the relining process on the day. We begin with a thorough high-pressure water jetting clean of the pipe to remove any debris, scale, or root material. We then run a CCTV camera through the cleaned pipe to map the damage and confirm the pipe dimensions. The resin liner is prepared off-site in the correct diameter and length, then inserted and inflated using an inversion drum or pulling method. Once cured, a final CCTV inspection confirms the new liner is smooth, sealed, and correctly positioned. You receive a DVD or USB copy of both the before and after survey footage.
